Eastern Blues walk 26 miles in the name of charity!

Over 60 Eastern Blues members took part in the Leigh Reeder Marathon Walk, in association with Mid Norfolk Motorhome Hire on Saturday 1st July. The club was raising funds for Norfolk & Waveney and Suffolk Mind in memory of the late Leigh Reeder, who was a longstanding member and club official.

The walk, which started from Freethorpe Village Hall, took in some picturesque scenery covering part of both Weavers' Way and Wherryman's Way, alongside the Broads.

The total raised is still be finalised, but the current figure is just over £10,800, which has surpassed the £10,000 target the club had set. There is still time if you wish to add to our total - visit our Just Giving page.

The headline sponsors, Mid Norfolk Motorhome Hire, brought along a motorhome to the base camp which the walkers enjoyed a tour of.

Members walking through the Norfolk countryside!

The evening was rounded off when we were joined by Michael Duberry and Neil Barnett for stories and insights into Michael's career.

Our thanks goes to our sponsors, Mid Norfolk Motorhome Hire, Eastons Holidays and Grahame R Bolton Kitchens and Interiors, without their support this wouldn't have been possible.

Thanks also goes the Kings Arms pub in Great Yarmouth for their valued support and the volunteers that helped to support the walkers on the day.

Once our fundraising has been closed off and the final total has been confirmed we will arrange cheque presentations to the charities and will post the photos on our website.

Well done to everyone that took part!
