2026 Cardiomyopathy UK

Our event will take place in 2026 after Cardiomyopathy UK was chosen by our members to be our charity partner for the next 3 years. Watch this space!

2023 Norfolk & Waveney and Suffolk MIND

Over 60 members completed the Leigh Reeder Marathon Walk, in association with Mid Norfolk Motorhome Hire, around the Norfolk Broads on 1st July, raising £11,709.16 in the process!

We were kindly supported by Mid Norfolk Motorhome Hire, Eastons Holidays and Grahame R Bolton Handmade Kitchens.

2020 Refuge

COVID-19 caused the last part of the 2019-2020 season to be played behind doors. A number of club members were due to travel to Munich for the Champions League Round of 16 away leg in March. Chelsea FC generously refunded travel costs to the members who decided to make a group donation to Refuge, which along with some other donations came to a total of £533, which was doubled by Chelsea FC to £1066.

2019 East Anglia's Children's Hospices (EACH)

We took a break from a charity event in 2019, in preparation for our planned 2020 event, which unfortunately got curtailed by COVID-19. However, we still raised £400 for East Anglia's Children's Hospices (EACH) at our Legends Night event with Gus Poyet held in Norwich.

2018 East Anglia's Children's Hospices (EACH) Ride for Life

In July 2018, 7 members undertook East Anglia's Children's Hospices (EACH) Ride for Life event, raising £5,200 for this worthy charity, and meeting inspiring parents and children along the way. The club donation was contributed to “The Nook” appeal: a fund established to help pay the cost of the new EACH hospice in Framingham Earl, Norfolk, which opened in 2019.

The Ride for Life was a 225 mile bike ride across 4 counties over 3 days which saw the members cycle from Snetterton to Ipswich on day 1, from Ipswich to Cambridge on day 2 and from Cambridge back to Snetterton on day 3.

The proceeds were presented by the club to EACH at their Treehouse hospice in Ipswich, and club members were later kindly invited to a pre-opening tour of “The Nook”.

We were kindly supported in our fundraising by local businesses SEN LegalEmpower Services, Cecilia’s Cocktail Bar and Grahame R Bolton Handmade Kitchens.

2017 Mount Snowdon climb for East Anglia's Children's Hospices (EACH) and East Anglian Air Ambulance (EAAA)

In 2017 members nominated EACH and the EAAA as the focus for fund raising efforts.

The main fund-raising event saw 20 members travel to Wales to climb Mount Snowdon. Ascent times varied, but support from all members present was 100%, and the club managed to raise over £5,300 to split equally between the two charities.
